Fishers Kids – Children’s Ministry

Welcome to Fishers Kids, the Children’s Ministry of Fishers of Men Lutheran Church. We provide a safe, Christ-centered environment for families in Sugar Land, Missouri City, and the First Colony area. Whether you are looking for Sunday School, nursery care, or engaging youth activities, our programs are designed to help children grow in their faith through a solid Lutheran foundation.

Children in Worship

We are excited to have children join their families in worship!

During our Sunday church services, children are invited to hear a special message geared just for them during our “Children’s Message”

At our Kids’ Corner in the Children’s Ministry wing, located near the Gathering Area, we offer busy bags to keep little hands occupied and coloring worksheets for use during the service. Materials are free for kids to use; we ask that they be returned after the Worship Services.

Fishers Kids offers weekly Sunday School and Bible Study classes for kids ages 2 years old through 5th grade. Join us in the Children's Ministry area on Sundays!

Sunday School & Bible Study for Kids

We meet each week for Sunday School, from 9:45-10:45 AM in the Fishers Kids Area.

Students from 2 years old* through 5th grade learn about Jesus’ love through a fun combination of skits, games, crafts, and small group discussions.

Students check in each Sunday morning at the front desk just inside the Fishers Kids doors. Parents are asked to complete a registration form before students attend their first class program.

Sunday School students can also check out books from our Fishers Kids Library. We use traditional library cards to check out and return books. Be sure to keep an eye on the library, as we’re always adding new children’s books to the shelves!

*Children must be 2 years old by September 1st to join the Sunday School program. If your child will not be 2 by that date, we invite you to use our Nursery services until they are old enough to join us. This policy enables us to provide age-appropriate activities and ensure a seamless transition for all children as they progress to the next classroom.

Fishers of Men Lutheran Church offers a safe and loving nursery environment for families in need of nursery care during church services and the Bible Study hour. Children's Ministry values our smallest children!

Safe & Loving Nursery Care

Nursery services are provided every Sunday for children 4 years old and under.

The nursery service is free, and no pre-registration is required.

Nursery services are provided every Sunday for children 4 years-old and under during the 11:00 AM Worship Service and the Sunday School/Bible Study hour.

The Nursery Room is open during the 8:30 AM Worship Service to be used as a cry room or play space if children need a break during the service time. The room will be unstaffed during this time.

The Nursery Room is located near the Fellowship Chapel in room C144.

Nursery staff will greet you at the door and provide a sign-in sheet for your child. You will be required to provide contact information in case of an emergency.

Fishers of Men Lutheran Church hosts VBS each summer for a week of fun games, snacks, bible stories, skits, and songs. Registration opens around Spring Break every year.

Vacation Bible School

Fishers Kids Ministry hosts a week-long VBS every summer for children in the surrounding community. Kids have fun learning about God’s love for them through Bible stories, games, songs, and even snacks!

Fishers Kids hosts the Easter Egg-Stravaganza. Kids of all ages gather eggs at the yearly Easter event at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church. The egg gathering is non-competitive (eggs are empty), so it's fun for all ages!

Easter Egg-Stravaganza: Egg Hunts & Family Fun for All Ages

Join us for our annual Easter event for age-grouped egg hunts. A petting zoo is available for families to enjoy, along with crafts and games.

Children's Ministry hosts its annual Trunks and Treats event with treats handed out from decorated car trunks, live music, games, crafts, and food.

Fishers Kids Ministry hosts an annual Trunks & Treats in October for the children and families in our community.

Children are invited to “trick-or-treat” at the many cars that have decorated their trunks for the event. There are games, treats, crafts, and fun for the whole family!

Little Fishers Preschool

Fishers of Men Lutheran Church has a thriving preschool program. Little Fishers Preschool offers services to children ages 18 months old, 2 years old, 3 years old, 4 years old (Pre-K), and 5 years old (Kindergarten or Bridge).

Preschool Program

Since 1997, Little Fishers Preschool has served as a ministry of Fishers of Men Lutheran Church for children in Sugar Land and surrounding communities.

We provide a Christ-centered early childhood program for children from 18 months old through Kindergarten. We help them to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. We focus on having fun while learning cooperation, independence, self-confidence, and socialization with other children.

We remain committed to our mission to … EXCITE, EXPLORE, EDUCATE THROUGH CHRIST AND GROW WITH GOD.

The traditional class schedule is from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Early drop off is available at 8:00 AM, and after-school programs are available until 3:00 PM.
