The Apocrypha is a set of books written during the period between the Old Testament and New Testament. While they are not part of the canon (the official set of books in our Bible) they are useful for providing insights and understanding of the historical setting for the world into which Jesus was born. We invite you to watch this study to gain some context from the few hundred years seldom studied that set the stage for Jesus’ life.

The Feasts Jesus Celebrated Bible Study

Do you know what God-given feast Jesus was celebrating when He gave His disciples the gift of Holy Communion? Jesus was celebrating the Jewish Feast of Passover. Every year of His life, Jesus celebrated the seven required feasts God had commanded in the Old Testament.

What feast were the disciples celebrating when they received the out pouring of the gift of the Holy Spirit? They were gathered together in Jerusalem to celebrate the feast of Pentecost. The early Christians continued to celebrate the feasts of their childhood. Learning about these feasts we can have a better understanding of the New Testament. We will be studying:

  • How the feasts were celebrated at the time of Jesus

  • How they are celebrated today

  • How the feasts relate to the New Testament

  • And what significance they have for us today
